Trump takes office today. Bird flu takes office “when it’s ready.” It’s much more deadly than COVID-2019. Bird flu mutates from animals to humans. At some point, it will go out of control. Birds fly between continents. Factory farming is beyond cruel, and its animals so abused, they could easily become vectors, with their damaged immune systems, for the next global epidemic. Karma. As I look at bird flu, however, I don’t see that epidemic day coming anytime soon.

The brilliant John Bolton, former security advisor for several presidents, says Trump’s second term will be as chaotic as his first one. Trump lacks the ability and concentration to focus and complete anything, although he promotes a good game. Let’s see if he’s different now. We might know as early as today.

As for TikTok, Trump has called off the bears. He promises no penalties for those who sell, or use, TikTok, and probably none for TikTok itself. TikTok could rise from the dead as soon as today, like a phoenix bird. No company promoting TikTok access will be penalized — according to Trump. Does he have that power? Are the companies providing access to TikTok willing to take that chance, that Trump can protect them? Can he do that, by decree?
