Texas oil baron Cliff Murchison Sr. (1895–1969) was one of the ringleaders in Texas of conspiring to have JFK killed. (Murchison died in 1969 with a fortune of $500,000,000; that’s 4.3 billion in today’s dollars.) According to Mac Wallace (see my 12/31/2024 three-part blog about the conspirators), “The people at the insiders meeting at the Murchison mansion [on 11/21/1963, the day before the assassination] were: Cliff Murchison, Clint Peoples, Bill Decker, H. L. Hunt, Cliff Carter, John Connally, W. O. Bankston, Carlos Marcello, John Roselli, Joseph P. Duggan, Richard Nixon, Sam Giancana, Joe Civello, Don Smith, Joe Yarbrough, Jack Ruby, David Atlee Phillips, Clay Shaw, Jack Grimm, Larry Campbell, George Brown, John J. McCloy, Amon G. Carter, Clyde Tolson, J. Edgar Hoover, Earl Cabell, B. R. Sheffield, John W. Carrington, R. L. Thornton, George Reese, and David Ferrie.” Ron MacKenzie adds, “Hoover had everyone sign a paper [above] as ‘insurance.’”

The above meeting started at 0700 on 11/21/1963 and ended about 3:30 p.m. They called it a victory party for LBJ, who was soon to be president. Mac Wallace had been doing ‘wet work’ contracts through LBJ’s lawyer, Cliff Carter, for years.” (Wet work is a euphemism for murder or assassination that refers to spilling blood.)
