Going House to House. By Gene W. Edwards. Posted 7/4/2023.
My American Indian friend, Savino, bought a house 40-some years ago in my Colorado Springs, CO for $5,500. The house adjoins our downtown and was only one or two doors from our city’s power plant, which is closing in a year or two. An exceedingly clever man, Savino fixed his house up every chance he got and just sold it for $328,000, 60 times what he bought it for — and moved into a new home in San Antonio for less.
Note: in 1960–1961, when I lived in Tempe, AZ, new houses in Phoenix’s Sun Valley, and elsewhere, were selling for $10,000-$12,000. I’m talking about three- room ranch houses — with a bomb shelter, built by entrepreneur Del E. Webb.
Thus, we see how much our money has lost value and why owning real estate is one of the best things you can do, financially. If you want to become a real estate tycoon, listen to Del Walmsley on talk radio. He’ll take you through all the steps to become a real estate millionaire . . . rather quickly! His is the cleverest voice of all in that “financial industry” but he presents a whole life philosophy as well. He is . . . wise.
Love,
Gene.
