Is It Possible? Default De Facto until Debt Ceiling Rises in July? The Republican Dog and Pony Show.

The Freedom Caucus’s “25” Republicans in the House, led by Rep. Jim Jordan (?), aren’t budging about massive cuts to our budget. We may run out of money as soon as June 1. They don’t care! Yes, the USA now owes 31.8+ trillion dollars to itself (treasury bonds) . . . and counting! Taxes are the solution, not massive cuts on present allocations, this fiscal year running until October 1, 2023, not to May 25 of 2024! What are the Republicans thinking? My intuition now tells me it could be sometime in July before the debt ceiling is raised by both chambers of our Congress.

If you don’t know what default means. What if for one month and a few days you could not make your house or car payment, buy food, pay for insurance, and feed the dog? You had no money at all! “Alms: into My Tin Cup.” Pity our middle and low classes, our working people.

Republicans are banking that our U.S. Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen, will be able to rob Peter to pay Paul until Congress acts, despite the House’s bad actors. Yellen had originally said she could keep us afloat until as late as early September. Now they infer that June 1 is a lie.

Meanwhile, tell your pet fish they’ll have to eat all the smaller ones in your fish tank because these is no outside food for any of them in there. The currency of nothing is zero.
