Shortly before the end of the hush money trial, David Pecker’s name kept resurfacing, the former publisher of the National Enquirer. Yeah, Pecker kept coming up. Finally, they gave him a break, saying, “The Pecker rests.” Before that, they wanted to reference Peckers (testimony).

The reason Trump kept “resting his eyes” in Merchan’s courtroom is that the place was so dingy, smelly, old, plain, and well-used, it looked like a DMV office. He vowed that if he ever again has to appear in such a courtroom, he will first gold plate it so it will meet his upper-class standards.
