I rather gleefully watched Nikki Haley squirm when a questioner on her Iowa campaign asked her about the cause of the Civil War. She totally fluffing the question via her “nuanced” answer — and then she backpedaled and became offended, rather than being “Smarter Than a Fifth Grader“ by immediately answering the persistent questioner with one word: “Slavery.” I observed in what happened that she will never confront Trump directly, or his politics, or his attacks, or his legions. She will always be subservient to all of them. No, they don’t like Blacks, they don’t like Asians, etc.

Here’s how I think the Iowa primary will go:

Haley 26%

DeSantis 21%

Christie 10%

Ramaswami 2%

. . . and that leaves Trump with 41% all by himself.

If DeSantis drops out, soon after the Iowa primary, the field will look different. The inference is: Haley 26% plus DeSantis’s 21% = 47% to Trump’s 41% . . . but it doesn’t work that way. DeSantis’s supporters may then only support Trump.
