Biden’s State of the Union (SOTU) speech on 3/7/2024 is the strongest SOTU speech I can remember in my lifetime. One of its themes was women’s reproductive rights. Other themes: our growing economy, thanks to Biden; the urgent need to help Ukraine; democracy on the ballot; border security; helping Gaza; and overthrowing selfish Republican agendas (they are under-taxed, etc.). It was a barnburner of a speech, a doubling down by a vigorous “young” man with 51 years of political experience, a polished speechmaker, and a scrapper as a political opponent of Trump. Don’t underestimate Biden! And, yeah, I still have issues with him. I have a 1,000X more issues with Trump.

Biden mishandled Afghanistan, the border, and deficit spending without taxes to offset his initiatives and to balance the way, way out of control national budget and national debt!

House speaker Mike Johnson sat behind Biden and grimaced throughout the whole speech. It was said afterwards that Johnson should never play poker. I found it pricelessly amusing that Johnson couldn’t help himself, not once during Biden’s entire speech. Every fearful and oppressive, depressing, “He’s conquering us Republicans: thought that he had immediately pasted itself onto his face for all to see. He was particularly offended with Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Bobert for heckling Biden rather than following his advice to them to ride it out.
