Skewer Them Pigs?! Demonstrations Run Amok! By Gene W. Edwards. Posted 4/26/2024.
Is it now the world vs. the Jew?! In the 1960s, during the Vietnam War, it became fashionable on college campuses to chant “Burn, baby, burn! Also, to condemn all policemen as “pigs” and mock soldiers returning from battle. Now, a new follow-the-leader anthem has erupted, this one against Jews, a protest as mean as a national shingles, one that dismisses America, a higher justice marked by diplomacy, compassion, and peace, and any semblance of normalcy.
ROTC buildings were burned in the ’60s, and military recruitment offices. Now college campuses are being immobilized. Jews, and sometimes Palestinians, are being harassed, threatened, assaulted, and condemned, not just on college campuses but anywhere and everywhere. Jewish students and professors are too afraid to go the class, feel too threatened to pass through hostile crowds changing “From the river to the sea,” and such epithets. It is sexy, now, to engage in armchair combat, and public gatherings combat, against “them.”
