Three days from now, about this clock time then, the polls start closing. Can you remember a closer election? I can’t. A more important election? I can’t. A closer race in the House, and in the Senate? I can’t.

In less than a week, when Harris was behind in voter simulations on 538.com by 47 out of 100 to Trump’s 53 out of 100, now it’s Trump 50, Harris 49 on Saturday, 11/2. By Monday or Tuesday, I expect them to be dead even . . . or so: 50/50 or 50/49, 1% voting for RFK or undecided. Harris may get the 50, or Trump may. I just flipped a coin and Harris won the toss for 50 as heads.

There are now only six swing states. They are WI, MI, PA, and the sun belt states NC, AZ, and GA. NV has been ceded to the Democrats. I am predicting a tiny margin of victory for Harris in the Electoral College in mid-December. She must have 270 votes or more to win. I’m predicting she’ll win 284 to Trump’s 254. That total reflects one state going to Harris that Trump didn’t get. Had he won one more populous state, such as Pennsylvania or Michigan, the numbers would be reversed, like Trump 284, Harris 254.

Yeah, there’ll be endless wrangling about who “really” won, but it is Harris who will be seated as U.S. President on 1/20/2025. Down the line, in 2026, Trump will go to jail, for being the architect of a coup d’etat and for his wanton mishandling of numerous classified documents to a degree worse than most convicted spies of espionage.
