Here’s the deal, reader. We know what they did, the major people in the forefront of the JFK assassination story, but now I’ll tell you their character, what they were like, and how they were wired. As follows:
Marguerite Oswald, Lee Harvey Oswald’s mother, was one piece of work! She could have created anyone into an Oswald. Here’s how journalist Hugh Aynesworth described her in his book, JFK: Breaking the News (2003), p. 123–124:
“Few people have ever so deeply annoyed me as Marguerite Oswald. And of all the things I disliked about her, none irritated me more than her voice. It was strange — unique in my experience — a jarring combination of bird-like singsong, childish whine, and predatory threat that invaded your head like a dental drill. She would not stop talking.”
Yeah, she looked matronly, and was concerned about her son, but “in truth, she was supremely egotistical, combative, devious, and smart” (page 124). From the moment Lee Harvey Oswald was identified as JFK’s probably shooter, she was for sale to the highest bidder for interviews and for artifacts from her son. She never said a word to anyone without hustling them for money first. One TV network even gave her a car. But no one interviewed her at all because she “simply talked, and talked, and talked” (p. 124). She ranted loudly about how people got the facts…
